David Garrett
25-year old David Garrett made his first public appearance at the age of 10 with Gerd Albrecht and the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra. In August 1992, he attracted the attention of the great violinist Ida Haendel, who promoted his artistic development. More recently David Garrett moved to New York as one of the first three students to study with Itzhak Perlman and has now graduated from the Julliard School.
Since his childhood, David Garrett has performed in all the major cities in Europe and Japan. His recent engagements included a tour of Japan with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra/Vanska, the Flanders Philharmonic/Callegari, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra/Slatkin, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields (as part of the Mostly Mozart Festival), the Gulbenkian Orchestra and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège/Langrée.
In the 2005/06 season David returns to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for three concerts with Leonard Slatkin and to the Far East to perform with the Tokyo Symphony and Taiwan National Symphony Orchestras. He also performs in the USA, Canada, Italy, Germany and France, including concerts with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
